October theme of the month

We are all connected to a source of infinite life and love and joy. We all have the capacity to express infinite love as well. The only thing is, is that we have limited opportunity to express and share and transform and heal. The moments that we share with each other, the moments between our birth and our death, are, for better or for worse, finite. Our Task, then, requires consistency, and stamina, and fortitude; The Task of squeezing an infinite amount of love into a finite experience.
The Mystic Sufi Poet, Hafiz, wrote once, "Cast All Your Votes For Dancing". He reminds us that each moment of our life is an election, and opportunity to dance, and to share our dance with all of the beings who touch our lives. He reminds us that we have a conscience, and a voice, and a deep truth. We realize that we can vote our conscience, we can cast our ballot and stand up for love and honor and goodness in even the smallest choices that we have to make.
We can never know the future, only Jah can tell. We don't know how The Election will turn out, when all of the votes are counted. At the end of the day, what matters is that we know that we cast all of our votes for dancing.

Your practice this month: DANCE!!! (kind of a no-brainer, huh?) Take some time to groove when you are on your yoga mat, do it while noone is looking, or, for crying out loud, do it while everyone is looking. I for one, am planning on going down to the city this friday after kids yoga teacher training with Ashley and Sally, and shaking it up a bit. Anyone who is willing to dance with all the heart and soul they got is welcome to join.
